DAVID'S TENT OREGON

2023 - David's Tent will not be meeting this year. Instead, the Lord has led us to host a Solemn assembly for the church of Salem and led by the Church's of Salem. A time for healing and reconciliation. A time for Family in this much needed hour (see more below).

No David's Tent 2023? It's
Jesus' Tent:  July 14th & 15th

The Leadership team that has helped to host David's Tent in past years, felt strongly that the Lord wanted to do something different this year. We have always taken time to pause and ask "Lord should we do this? Do you want something different?" 2022 was one of the best years ever (see info below). But now we feel God wants to meet with His body here in Salem in a special way.

As a city we know and feel the rumblings of a move of God, yet we know this can't happen (as it ought to happen) without the church of Salem being unified in heart and purpose (as much as we are able). We are not looking for a move that comes to one place and goes a month later, rather a revival that fills this whole city, overflows in every place, fills every believer and awakens them to prayer and the great commission and breaks open the doors for a transformation for the whole state.

We are working to invite and partner with as many churches as are willing to come, to a 2 day event at the State Capital mall to worship, pray, share a meal, and forgive. To have the conversation together about why we are here. This is our city we are seeking to save. It's the same souls and we are the under the same Lord, for the same cause- that Salem belongs to Jesus. We are not willing to give it up. And we can do this together as Christ's body with Jesus as our Head. Its not David's Tent for 2023. It's Jesus' Tent. And He is gathering us to meet with Him together.
2023 Jesus' Tent FAQ:
Q: Can I still come and be a part of Jesus tent event if I have come to David's Tent in the Past?
A:
If you are local to Salem or Oregon and want to support what God is doing in our city, then yes, come. However we are working primarily to rally churches in our city as we feel this is a more intimate meeting for the Church's of Salem specifically for this year.
Q: Can I still sign up to lead worship?
A: This year that will be given to the various churches participating, so we will not have open sign ups. If you are part of a Local Salem Keizer Church please reach out to us and we can see about getting you on the schedule.
Q: Is this the end of David tent in Oregon?
A: We ask God every year what is best to do. David's tent has been a massive anchor for 8 years with so much fruit and joy. With people impacted and only God knows the mighty impact it has been on the Northwest. We don't have any intention to end it. But have every intention to follow Jesus. Soooo, will see.
Q: What will be happening at Jesus' Tent?
A: Jesus' Tent is new, and in formation at this time. It is likely that we will have worship and teaching from local pastors alternating with times of prayer. We are also planning on having a massive picnic on the lawn to "break bread" together. Again this is a time to mourn the divisions we have faced, to turn our hearts to one another, to remember why we are here, and what team we are on.
We are family- so these things will be the focus of the event.
Q: How can we help?
A: If you are local to Salem/Keizer and your church wants to attend, send a email to Office@salemhouseofprayer.org and we will reach out with details. If you want to serve we will have may opportunities:  security, set up, tear down, and ushers will always be needed. Please send a message to the same email and we will contact you.
What happened in 2022?
Exactly 200 hours of Worship and Prayer for 8 days.
Over 50 worship teams participating from all over OR and surrounding states.
11 Separate Evangelism training times lead by 7 different local Ministries.
and so many stories of lives touched and changed by the presence of God.
In 2019, at least

93 cities

From across Oregon came together to worship in front of our state capitol.

The Story.

Inspired by the biblical tabernacle of David, a group of YWAMers from Washington, D.C. set up a tent on the White House Ellipse and worshiped day and night for 40 days.  That was in 2012.  Since then, the event has been growing in size and length every year.  In 2015 David's Tent DC started what would become the longest outdoor worship event in U.S. history, which continues to this day. Read more of their amazing story at www.davidstentdc.org.

Since hearing about the first David's Tent DC, our hearts burned to set up a worship tent in front of our own state Capitol.  In 2015 the Lord opened the doors for the first-ever David's Tent Oregon.  It lasted 4 days, and worshipers came from 60 different cities throughout Oregon and Washington.  Since then, we have gathered every year in summer or early fall.
